Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about renting production-ready RVs from Starfleet Rentals.
Pricing & Rates
How much does it cost to rent an RV for a production?
Our commercial rate is $1,000 per day per unit. This is a flat, all-inclusive rate that covers full prep, delivery, generator, setup, all amenities, and teardown. No hidden fees or surprise add-ons.
Do you offer weekly or monthly rates?
Yes. Weekly rate is $7,000 (7 days) and monthly rate is $28,000 (28 days). For longer productions, contact us to discuss a custom package.
What's included in the daily rate?
Everything. Professional cleaning and prep, generator (fueled), delivery and leveling, all linens, cookware, amenities, supplies, and teardown/pickup when you're done. There are no add-on charges for amenities — unlike consumer rentals, the commercial rate is truly all-inclusive.
Delivery & Moves
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery and initial setup are included in your rental rate. For location moves during a production, each move is $250 with the first 30 miles included, plus $8/mile beyond that.
Can the RV be moved to different locations during a production?
Absolutely — multi-location productions are common. Each move is $250 plus any mileage beyond 30 miles. If you add an attendant, move charges are waived entirely (only mileage beyond 30 miles applies).
What area do you serve?
We're based in Independence, MO and serve the greater Kansas City metro area and broader MO/KS region. Contact us for locations outside the metro.
Attendant Service
What does the attendant do?
A dedicated attendant handles delivery, setup, leveling, generator management, location moves, and teardown. They're your single point of contact for the unit throughout the production.
How much does an attendant cost?
$400 per day, which covers up to 10 hours on-site. Beyond 10 hours, it's $100 per additional hour. An attendant also eliminates move charges — you only pay mileage beyond 30 miles per move.
Is an attendant required?
No, it's optional. Without an attendant, we still handle delivery, setup, and pickup — you just pay per-move fees if the unit needs to relocate during your production.
Reservations & Holds
Can I hold an RV while my production is getting approved?
Yes. We offer production holds that block the dates while your project is in development. When you're ready to move forward, just confirm and we'll lock it in.
What happens if someone else wants the same dates?
If another booking request comes in for dates you're holding, you get 24-hour first right of refusal. We'll notify you immediately and you'll have 24 hours to confirm your reservation.
Do all reservations require approval?
Yes. All reservations are reviewed and approved by our team to ensure we can meet your specific needs — unit availability, logistics, generator requirements, and location accessibility.
The Fleet
What types of RVs do you have?
We have travel trailers and fifth wheels ranging from units that sleep 4 to 6 people. All units feature full kitchens, bathrooms, climate control, and comfortable sleeping quarters.
Do you provide generators?
Yes, every commercial rental includes a generator, fueled and ready to go. This is essential for on-location shoots that don't have power hookups.
Can I rent multiple units for a larger production?
Absolutely. We regularly provide multiple units for productions — talent trailers, crew break rooms, hair and makeup stations, and production offices. Contact us to discuss your multi-unit needs.
